What is barcode and how it works?
In a nutshell, a barcode is a way to encode information into a visual pattern (those black lines and white spaces) that a machine (a barcode scanner) can read. A barcode scanner will read this pattern of black and white bars and translate them into a line of test that your retail point of sale system can understand.
What do you notice in the barcode?
The most visually recognizable, the UPC (Universal Product Code) is a linear 1D barcode made up of two parts: the barcode and the 12-digit UPC number. The first six numbers of the barcode is the manufacturer’s identification number. The next five digits represent the item’s number.
